Feature Follow (34)

Feature and Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.

This week’s question:

Q: Have you broken up with a series? If so which one and why

A: I can actually think of a few: Matched by Ally Condie, the House of Night series by P.C & Kristin Cast…A lot of things deterred me from reading Crossed and Reached, but I think I’d still prefer finishing that series than finishing HoN because honestly, that has been dragging on for way too long it’s not even funny anymore.

What’s your answer to this week’s FF? Let us know by commenting, especially if you followed so we can follow you back! (And are any of you still reading/read the series mentioned above? Why?)

Waiting on Wednesday (20)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

The book we’ve picked for this week is…

dare you to

Ryan lowers his lips to my ear. “Dance with me, Beth.”

“No.” I whisper the reply. I hate him and I hate myself for wanting him to touch me again….

“I dare you…”

If anyone knew the truth about Beth Risk’s home life, they’d send her mother to jail and seventeen-year-old Beth who knows where. So she protects her mom at all costs. Until the day her uncle swoops in and forces Beth to choose between her mom’s freedom and her own happiness. That’s how Beth finds herself living with an aunt who doesn’t want her and going to a school that doesn’t understand her. At all. Except for the one guy who shouldn’t get her, but does….

Ryan Stone is the town golden boy, a popular baseball star jock-with secrets he can’t tell anyone. Not even the friends he shares everything with, including the constant dares to do crazy things. The craziest? Asking out the Skater girl who couldn’t be less interested in him.

But what begins as a dare becomes an intense attraction neither Ryan nor Beth expected. Suddenly, the boy with the flawless image risks his dreams-and his life-for the girl he loves, and the girl who won’t let anyone get too close is daring herself to want it all….

Ever since I finished Pushing the Limits, I’ve been dying to read its spin off, Dare You To! I’ve always been intrigued by Beth, because her character is so complex. I guess I’ll find out more about her in…26 days!

This week’s question:

Q: Tell us about the most emotional scene you’ve ever read in a book – and how did you react?

A: I’m not one to tear up quickly in a book, but one scene I can never forget is the final scene in Bloodrose by Andrea Cremer. And perhaps the scene in Half-Blood Prince with Dumbledore dying. And all the other death scenes in Harry Potter. :P

Special thanks to Nicole and Michelle of The Twins Read for their twitter giveaway!

As you can see, we received quite a small haul this week, which is probably why I decided to  insert pictures of the books to liven up the post a little! Even though we only got four books, Tiffany and I still have the BEST week of our bookish lives.

Why?

First of all, CLOCKWORK PRINCESS.

I don’t think I need to say more. Just that I’m extremely jealous of Tiff right now. But thank goodness she’s letting me borrow it. See, that’s an awesome co-blogger right there. (Though I will never admit it ever again.) Check out her 5 star Review for Clockwork Princess!

But, my week has been great as well, thanks for asking. (Haha, just kidding.) I received Hopeless from Edelweiss, and I practically screamed when I got the email.

And yes, it was AMAZING.

I think I just fell in love with the characters. And lost a whole lot of sleep in the process. The review for Hopeless is coming up soon, so don’t forget to stop by and take a look at it!

Feature and Follow (28)

Feature and Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.
This week’s question:

Q: What is your guilty pleasure as far as reading? Is it a genre, or is it a certain type of book?

A: Reading IS a guilty pleasure, ha. Everything I read practically falls under my guilty pleasures (Hey, they’re YA.) but I guess if I really HAD to choose, I’d pick good contemporaries (Jodi Picoult, Kody Keplinger, Stephanie Perkins, etc.) because I usually finish those in a matter of hours.

Tiffany and I would love to know YOUR answer to today’s Feature and Follow question! Just don’t forget to leave a comment and a link so that we can follow you back!

Waiting on Wednesday (18)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.
The book we’ve picked for this week is…

This book will feature Cinder and Rapunzel and will take place in the Sahara Desert.

Oh, not much of a summary yet, seeing that it isn’t set to come out until next year. But, we just couldn’t wait to share Cress, because Scarlet is absolutely awesome! Marissa Meyer is truly an amazing writer, and we can’t wait to see with she cooked up next with Cinder and Rapunzel being the next characters!

Feature and Follow (27)

Feature and Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.
This week’s question:

Q: Activity! Hopefully warm weather for most of us is here soon…so tell us about your favorite outdoor reading spot. Or take a picture.

A: I don’t really like reading outside, (it comes with living in a tropical country: bugs and mosquitoes everywhere, 24/7) but if I HAD to choose a spot, it would be at the lanai/veranda or at a park near my house. It’s especially cozy there early in the morning, when it’s still quite cool and there are no children playing outside, but after noon, it gets really hot and noisy there, so it’s back in the room for me!

Waiting on Wednesday (17)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.
The book we’ve picked for this week is…

Danger intensifies for the Shadowhunters as the New York Timesbestselling Infernal Devices trilogy comes to a close.

If the only way to save the world was to destroy what you loved most, would you do it?

The clock is ticking. Everyone must choose.

Passion. Power. Secrets. Enchantment.

Danger closes in around the Shadowhunters in the final installment of the bestselling Infernal Devices trilogy.

I couldn’t help but use Clockwork Princess again for my WoW because it’s coming out really, really soon! *makes grabby hands at the screen* I can almost touch it…
I need to know what happens with Jem, Will, Tessa, and the rest of the characters ASAP. Will be getting this one as soon as it appears on the shelves.

What’s your pick this week? Let us know, especially if you followed. We’ll definitely follow back. :)
